A Gay Pride Aside

One of my friends just posted a bunch of pictures on Facebook from the 2006 Gay Pride Parade. I enjoyed looking back on them so much that I thought I should put them on Cute Qubit, especially since I’ve been just talking about boring old teaching for the last little while.

I’ll start by introducing who was all there. Of course I was there, and so was Trish.

So was Audrey and Chris.


Chris’s boyfriend Gord was also there, you’ll see him later.

Some of my personal favourites in the parade were the gay fruit.

The kiwi has always been my favourite. I also liked the group that reminded everyone that being gay was not mutually exclusive with being a geek.


This man wasn’t one of my favourites, but once you see him, he’s pretty hard to forget.

Later in the night we went to Zippers (located in the village).

I'd like to point out that a picture of someone dancing is not exactly a fair representation of that person's dancing skills. I like dancing very much, but the following picture might make you think I’m talentless.


Now the guy I’m dancing with, well I have no clue who he is, but he made a good dance partner. Unfortunately, the picture might give you a false perspective of what’s going on here. My friend Ashley said that my expression is “sexually aggressive.” I was just really into the dancing (if you heard the music, mostly 80’s and dance, you’d understand). To my surprise, everyone I was with decided not to rescue me from dancing with this fellow as they found it too entertaining (after all, I enjoyed dancing with him, but I needed an exit plan). So after a few songs, my dancing with the nameless fellow ended when I hit some dudes drink out of his hand, which I rightly replaced.

I’ll end with a little VIA train, as hey, it was cute.
